MCL Practitioner seminar series launched

The MCL is delighted to announce a new series of lectures and seminars, exclusively for MCL students, that will focus on key issues practitioners involved in corporate and commercial transactions face, with particular reference to legal practice related skills.

For 2015-16, the speakers will be

  • Ken Adams, a leading authority on contract drafting, who will speak about drafting clearer contracts;
  • Philip Wood CBE, QC, Head of Allen & Overy's Global Intelligence Unit, who will speak on the international dimensions of corporate and commercial transactions;
  • David Johnson, a partner at Slaughter & May, will speak about negotiation skills and will conduct a mock negotiation exercise;
  • Robert Hingley, Chair of the MCL Practitioner Advisory Board and former Director General of the Takeover Panel and former Director of the ABI, will lead a Q&A session on what clients want from their transactional lawyers.
