What were you doing before the MCL?

I obtained my first master's degree in law at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”. I also undertook three legal traineeships over my first five years of studies in law, at two Bulgarian law firms and a large Bulgarian energy provider. This familiarized me with Bulgarian law and practice concerning corporate transactions was well as familiarizing me with numerous aspects of the provision of legal services.

What were your impressions of the MCL?

By embarking on the MCL I hoped to expand my knowledge of corporate law and structures and of the English/Common law system. The course satisfied those expectations as well as furthering my professional opportunities. The course offerings were clear and comprehensive and the concepts well explained. The classes were small and practise focused, which appealed greatly to me and which ultimately resulted in additional discussions, case studies, and general problem solving. The programme also allowed me to establish relationships with an exceptional cohort with different backgrounds and career paths.

What are your post-MCL plans and have they changed due to taking the MCL?

Following the MCL, I plan to become a solicitor in London. The Cambridge Careers Service was extremely helpful in the initial stages of obtaining a training contract. I am confident that the knowledge gained on the MCL will provide me with a solid foundation for my practice of law in the future.
